BeetaGeneX works with students and early-career builders on real projects — the same work the tracks, courses and research hub are built around. Biotechnology is one of those areas; software, data and design are others.
01/Where you can contribute
Front-end and back-end work on the platform itself — the pages, the internal tools and the small apps the team runs on.
Scripting the repetitive parts of research: cleaning a dataset, automating a report, and building a small pipeline somebody else can rerun.
Building and, more importantly, honestly evaluating models on biological data, with the evaluation discipline the machine-learning course teaches.
Sequence analysis, alignment and variant work — the kind of pipeline described in the research hub, applied to a small question of your own.
Structure-based work: reading a structure, preparing a system, and reporting what the model does and does not support.
Turning a method into something a student can follow and check — the same standard the research explainers are held to.
02/How to express interest
Applicants who have worked through a module already know how the platform teaches, and have something concrete to point at.
One short form: the area you want to work in, what you can already do, and a link to anything you have built. No CV formatting rules, no cover-letter ceremony.
Current programme details, format and availability are confirmed in reply. Questions before you apply go to services.beetagenex@gmail.com.

On programme details: cohort dates, format and availability change, so they are confirmed in writing when you enquire rather than published as a fixed promise here. Nothing on this page should be read as a guaranteed placement.
Work through a module first — it is the fastest way to see whether the fit is right.
